NEW YORK—Throughout the summer, rain or shine, six perfect blue clouds will rise above Central Park. “Clouds” by Olaf Breuning is composed of polished and painted aluminum. Breuning is “interested in situations that bend reality to the whims of his imagination.” Floating 35 feet from the ground, the precisely shaped, bright blue clouds are playful and cartoon-like, reflecting his predilection for whimsy.
The installation on Central Park South near Fifth Avenue is a Public Art Fund project. “Clouds” is on view from March 4 to Aug. 24, 2014.
