NEW YORK—Over the weekend, Garde Rail Gallery of Austin, Texas, exhibited Holly Farrell‘s charming oil and acrylic on masonite works at the Outsider Art Fair. On the gallery’s website, the self-taught artist describes how she came to view her painting of objects as portraits: “When the objects started to take on a character of their own, I realized I was really painting portraits without any people in them.”
