NEW YORK—”The Amazing Spider-Man” opened in movie theaters last week, the super hero is on Broadway and in a couple of days he will join fellow Marvel characters in San Diego for Comic-Con. The elusive Spider-Man is everywhere, including the Museum of Modern Art where the web slinger appears to be climbing out of a layered 1970s canvas by German artist Sigmar Polke (1941-2010).
“Spiderman” is a part of the museum’s collection and is currently on view in the painting and sculpture gallery.
