NEW YORK—All this week, painters have been installing a Kehinde Wiley mural celebrating the artist’s new exhibit at the Jewish Museum. “The World Stage: Israel” opened yesterday and includes work based on photographs Wiley took while visiting Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Lod. The series of 14 portraits of young men from diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds continues his exploration of the global diaspora. The mural at the corner of Houston and Mott streets replicates “Alios Itzhak,” one of the paintings in the exhibit.
Update: Kehinde Wiley discusses exhibit at Jewish Museum.
