NEW YORK—Glenda Bailey took the helm of Bazaar magazine 10 years ago and to mark the milestone anniversary, the fashion tome has launched an exhibit, “Harper’s Bazaar: A Decade of Style,” at the International Center of Photography.
Founded in 1867, Bazaar is the oldest fashion magazine in America. Since the 1930s the magazine has established a reputation for groundbreaking photography. The ICP installation features gallery-style photographs as well as actual tear sheets from the magazine that celebrate the iconic photography and photographers that graced its pages over the past decade.
I saw the exhibit today and the stunning images of creative covers and fashion features are well-curated—perfectly chosen examples of the exceptional artistry that appears monthly in the magazine. My only complaint is that the exhibit is too brief.
